I'ts a great trip although haven't done it recently and would probably take 3 days in preference. We did it in reverse but took in the sights of (going in your direction) of The Howqua track via The Bluff and Lovicks hut, around Howitt to Zeka track, down to the Wonnangatta Valley, up the Pinnacle and down again (after admiring the view) the on to Blue Rag (missed Dargo). We just came back from that exact route.... I wouldnt want to do it in two days even though it could be done,,,,, 3 would be a lot more comfy...
There is a track called "Basalt" after Grant Historic Area which had a great section at the beginning...

Pack a good sleeping bag as it will be cold overnight.

Camped at Davies Plain Hut for two nights Sunday & Monday and though differences of opinion were formed over breakfast regarding the accuracy of one of the measuring devices the thermometers around camp (ranging from -9 to -4 deg C) all agreed it was bluddy cold.

Great for power consumption cos it was 1.5 deg C in the Engel so it didn't cut in at all after about 9pm or before 10am.

The tracks up there should be good at the moment though watch how much rain they get this week. Some are extremely difficult in the wet.

It's a great trip. Enjoy it before the tracks close for winter.
