Bundy,

Went down to Collie on Easter and camped at Stockton Dam, just East of Collie with a group of friends. Little bit crowded for my liking but had toilet and shower, though toilet had a lot to be desired. Plenty of tracks around to get dirty and probably better now with a bit of rain.
Couple of weeks earlier, we camped at Glen Mervyn Dam about 12 klms south of Collie. Found that a lot more peaceful and great for the kids. Kangaroo's at night and wild ducks around the camp fire. Pulled the camper trailer right on to dam edge and camped within feet of the water. Quite a few tracks around but did not explore too much.
Both spots were free and dog friendly.

Happy camping

Chris

Went down there last weekend and did find a few roads/tracks closed, but also found many open for some serious 4x4ing. Shouldn't be a problem finding somewhere to have some fun.
Went past Honeymoon Pool & the gate was shut with a "Closed for Reconstruction" sign on it. Potters near the dam wall is open if you want some facillities, otherwise find a spot in the scrub. Damn cold at night tho!!

Yes, Collie had minus 6 degrees a week or so ago. Doubt they've had much rain though.

I am living down here for a stint at the moment and whilst some tracks are closed there are heaps to go for a wander along.

I think most roads that have been closed are for burn offs thru calm.

I have spent a bit of time out there and it's fantastic fun and all within a stones throw of town. As the local Tojo guy said to me when I first enquired, just take a road out of town, find a track off into the scrub and enjoy.

If you keep in mind where the dams are, you will mostly end up at the edge of a large lump of water. It's good country with not to many folks travelling. I have seen none yet on my meanderings.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!
