MM is looking for a more detailed map after a certain interval (this can be set in the "configuration" settings) and will check either the current directory/sub-
directory or just the one folder, depending on your settings.
In the moving map control box, there are 2 buttons that you should play with....
- "Check for more detailed map" (4th button, top left). I take it this is checked and the Landsat is a higher resolution (less metres per pixel) than the 250k. Deselecting this will stop the swapping of maps.
- "Moving Map looks for maps in only the current folder of the currently loaded map" (5th button, top left). Does what is says :-) Make sure this box is depressed to only check the 250k files. Depending where/how your file structure is arranged, it may help by moving the files into seperate sections.
Folr more info, push the "?" in any area to access the help file, which is an excellent source of information.......

Hi Andrew ,
I want to get a "state of the art" mapping system in my landcruiser . After seeing three systems at work during my last trip , I am confused because each seemed to be using different hardware set-ups .
I have heard that you can buy a special "in car computer" that will go under your seat and is hooked up to the all the time so that you just flick a switch and on comes the computer and your maps ? This is hooked up to a screen mounted on your dashboard . Is this something I have dreamed about and is not really posible or do things like this exist ?
If they do exist , do you know anyone in
Sydney who could sell and install such a system ? They would have to get it all going including installing the software , because I am a cretin at such things .
Thanks ,
Willie .
