3.0L Engine in Subaru Forester?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has modified a Forester (or seen one) where the standard 2L or 2.5L engine was removed and a H6 3L engine put into it?

If so, are there any problems or issues with the modification and the cars performance afterwards?

Why not put a turbo on it. Mine goes like a cut cat.

Why not a WRX motor?

Been looking at putting one in the back of my 74 beetle.

Quite cheap as a half cut or Jap import. About $5,000.00.
Half the price of doing up the beetle motor to similar specs. Very tempting.

Op,

I'm guessing with that conversion you would have to think about upgrading the brakes and other stuff to get RWC???
Would I be correct in assuming this? I would love to see the final product of such a conversion, NICE.

Yep, you can get commodore discs that bolt straight on.

There are a few 12 and 13 sec 1/4 mile street dubbs out there at the moment.

Another one has a 2.5l V6 in the back.
Have seen one with a rover 3.5l V8 in the back.
Advantage of pre 1976 cars.
Mods are reasonably easy as long as you get them engineer certified.

Friend is building a VW trike with a 2.7l VW motor, he is an air cooled traditionalist, with twin turbos. Not sure of power figure yet, but it will be in the 220 to 250+ HP, with 300 to 400 kg to push. Should really go.

We all like giving those ricers a stir.
Notice not many actually make it to the race track or drag strip?
