Free camping in Tasmania
Message 1 on this topic

I work for local government in the Tamar Valley region of Tasmania and we are looking at designating certain areas in our municipality for 24-hour free camping for campervans and motorhomes. Can anyone put me in touch with other council areas that do have designated 24-hour camping areas for motorhomes and campervans?

Also, what facilities are necessary in these areas? I assume public toilets and gas BBQ’s. Is this enough? I would appreciate any help you could provide.

Hi FAY-D-Away ,
what about tents-the reason I ask is because on the 13th I'm catching the boat over to Tassie.
