Are 80 series wheels compatible with GU3

Submitted: Tuesday, Aug 01, 2006 at 21:47

Hardo

Hi all
Does anyone know if 80 series and GU3 wheels are compatible. I know both are 16" and stud pattern matches. They are both running 265/75/R16 tyres. What I'm not sure about is the offset and if this would prevent using spare wheels on either vehicle. Just wondering because for an upcoming trip this could be useful to know if our spares are interchangeable.
Thanks
Mark

You may find that the centre hole is slightly smaller on the Toyota wheels, so the Nissan wheels will fit both vehicles, but the 80series wheels won't go on the Nissan. The difference in offset is not significant.

Wouldn't it be good of Australia had a standards association to check on these things. For example all six stud wheels to be the same pattern. All five stud the same etc.
All ol filters the same, all aircleaners the same. I could go on.
I wish we had a standards association.

There is one good thing about standards,,,, there is so many to pick from.

My answer is Im not sure!
I would try swaping them yourself rather than taking the chance.
Old G60's could use HJ60'S but not the other way round. The next model nissan (watever they are) will fit the 80 series but the off set is different (then tyre size comes into it) and it also depends if your hubs are standard. Im sure someone has done this and will know but I personaly would check for yourself before going on a trip and relying on it.
Sorry I couldnt be much help.

You will get 80 series wheels on the back of a GUII but not on the front - does that help? Not sure for the GUIII I would assume they're the same.
