towing capacity hilux surf ssr-x

hey raff,
I was told by ARB Perth that the max towing capacity of my Surf is "about 1500kg" but when i got the car back after having a Heavy Duty bar installed the info plate on it says max 1200kg's. Anyway, i'm happy because i use it for a recovery point as much as anything, and my boat is 1050kg so i'm fine either way.

If yours is a 2.4 surf i would suggest the capacity would be the same as mine, if its a 3.0ltr then it may be different, not sure.

I've got a 2.4 L Surf and ARB in Perth fitted a 1500 kg receiver hitch to vehicle before I purchased it.

I have since checked it out with Parkside Towbars in Perth and their documentation states the '92 Surf, which I have, is rated for 1500 kg with 150 kg tow ball weight.
