No dash gauges or warning lights

First up Happy Fathers day to all the dads out there. I have a problem that accured yesterday while out in the bush, I have a TD3lt Patrol and while driving all the dash gauges, warning lights and ignition lights stopped working. I stopped the motor and checked all the fuses { under the bonnet and in the cab] to no avail. Started the motor and still not working, checked for any broken looms or wiring, all ok. Well there was nothing more I could do in the forest so kept on going for the rest of the day. No decrease in power or anything, still had indircators but that is all on the dash. But towards the end of the day the battery was drained and had to jump start the car. The battery was a new one fitted this week. Has anyone come across this before and can advise me before I take it to the dealer and get slugged a bundle.

Id be looking closley at the alternator. With 80 series cruisers when the alt plugs get grotty the dash lights play up and also you've lost charging power(run a multi meter over your battery to see if it is charging too).Im guessing there also may be a maxi fuse under the bonnet for charging, check that too.

Check the alternator. There should be a plug coming out of it , and the plug/socket could be full of crud.

Checked all that last night Footloose all clean and tight. I think by looking at the wireing diagram all of the non working units are linked to the ECU. I hope it is not that.

Max you have no doubt blown the main fusible link (100 amp) between the alternator and the battery. Look under the grey cover under the bonnet. fuse is held in with 2 bolts. Symptoms of this blown fuse include no ignition lights, no gauges, no indicators, no power windows. Approx $40 to replace.

Check the main fuses (under bonnet) but first replace (inside) the fuse i think its no 24? i had this the other day the fuse would no longer work looked good but was blowen good luck & don't forget you have to disconnect the battery for a few mins for the sub tank switch to reset
