UHF Scan problem.

I have a GME TX3200 UHF, when I set it to scan, it stops at channel 25 & the 'busy' icon is displayed.

This happens every time, no matter where I am, I have only noticed the problem over the last 2 or 3 weeks.

Any ideas?

Have you installed anything new in the vehicle lately?

Some of these electronic gizmos emit RF radiation in different frequencies and if you have them close together you can get that sort of thing happening.

I was told to check my earth and/or antenna connections with similar problems on my 3400. Not sure if it worked, as the problem happened when i was in Brissy and i forgot to check again until i arrived home.

Even though it isn't a longterm fix, you may want to hold in the scan button for several seconds to deselect that channel (no "m" shown on screen) to allow scanning.

As mentioned above, it happens - Barrett 950 long distance HF radios put out interference that will snag a UHF scan on Ch35 - as a result, I had to delete 35 from the scan sequence on my Icom 400 Pro - if you can't find the source of the interference, your GME might permit deletion of certain channels from the scan run.
