LPG Diesel Dual Fuel

Hello to everyone interested in diesel LPG dual fuel.

I suggest you have a look at the following 2 Australian web sites;

1. Diesel On Gas (International) Pty Ltd
209 Richmond Road
RICHMOND
South Australia 5033

www.dieselongas.com

2. DIESEL / GAS AUSTRALIA
15 McInnes St
Ridleyton 5008
South Australia

www.dieselgas.com.au

Also I recently read a short article on the ABC web site about a farmer who has been successfully running his farm machinery and ute on diesel / LPG dual fuel for a couple of years.

I am not connected in any way with either firm or the LPG or automotive industry. I found both sites very informative and am proceeding to have LPG dual fuel fitted to my ZD30 Patrol.

Keep on 4wding
Regards
Phil

Hi, Could you please keep me informed when you have it done as I too am thinking about the LPG for my 2003 GU 3 lt patrol. Was told they would very disappointed if they couldn't increase fuel economy from about 8.4 to at least 10 km per lt plus the extra power and torque, cost is $3500 + GST then get the $2000 rebate but have herd there is a 12 month waiting list, You will void your manufacture warranty if the LPG is proven to cause fault to your motor but you can also buy a warranty the will cover your motor should the LPG causes grief about $165 for 3yr/60000km.

If we (government) are fair dinkum about getting people into using gas then should the $2000 subsidy should be increased for diesels. Why? Because I understand fuel economy on petrol vehicles using gas is worse so they are using valuable resources quicker whereas diesel economy is improved therefore using less of our resources. Am I right or wrong?

I think you are on the money, I have had quite a few discussions with one of the mobs dooing it. They are saying I'll save about a litre per 100km overall, so not saving much on volume, but abot 3 of the 14l I will use will be LPG, which up here is about 70c cheaper than diesel at the mmoment. I'm booked in at Xmas, and have a spreadsheet of a lot of identical trips and fuel usage to work - 388 k's, so when I get it done I should be able to put some real figures on the board!...I can also do some comparisons with the gas turned off after installation, although it will be hard to volintarily turn off 20% of my horspower I suposidly will gain.

Cheers Andrew
