Hi everyone, I am interested in people with problems with their Ford F250 specifically the 7.3 ltr Powerstroke 1999 onwards, I am most interested in vehicles with Injector / fuel delivery / #6 and #8 cylinder problems / vibration at clutch pedal / clutch and or flywheel problems / Fuel delivery at tank / I would be very interested in anyone who has been told that they have purchased dirty / contaminated fuel which has resulted in replaced injectors. I am considering a class action against Ford and I have a Barrister who is willing to champion the cause. Thankyou.

Hi mf250,

May well be worth your while to place a post on the Bushtracker Owners Forum if you havw not done it to date. Lot,s of Ford owners there.

You will, if you go back through their threads find a number of links to U.S. Ford F250/350 owner groups.

Should you post you may very well hear of "Da Lone Ranger", a Bushtracker Director who has 3,000 years of knowledge but has lived less than 100, he can be bloody abrasive as he has an opinion on everything but the members appear to be a fantastic group.

Mate why don’t you give us the full story, being exactly what you have had to get replaced on your truck and what is still going wrong on it.

If the problems were that bad and common, you bet a law suet would of already been lodged in the U.S.

The Fuel pick up in the tank has a filter sock on it I think that can clog over time and give you problems.

Cheers.

Exploder: follow the link in our follow up post......we know whats wrong and we know how to fix it, it's just that FORD don't!!!!!!!!! or don't want to......there are 1700 people in US with the same problem and Ford are paying for the fixes, here they are not responding too well, we have tried everything except drive the car through their showroom window LOL. My partner knows more about the car than they do and makes them look stupid every day. read the link. Jane

Our 10/03 model had a problem with the fuel pump in the tank. Ford told us it was dirty fuel but we filled our 2/04 model from the same tanks and never had a problem.
After a lot of problems with Ford we paid for the pump to be replaced and we had no more problems. I think after they realised it was the problem they refunded us under warranty.
Ours didn't require injectors to be replaced afaik and the symptom was inability to rev freely with an associated complete lack of power.
Ours are both autos.

I found it quite interesting to find that after dealing with one Ford dealer for years and always being told 'we haven't heard of that problem before' we changed dealers and the new dealer has told us of problems we didn't even know about. He says his technicians run and hide in the bathroom when they see an F250 come in :-)

For those of you that are interested there is currently a group in the US supporting a class action, there is an awesome website: www.dieselstop.com full of info on the problems with the 7.3 powerstroke, it is awesome reading and the guy's and gals on line are very informative. The problem here in Oz is that not enough of us own these trucks, hence the POST. You can read my story at Site Link it would be interesting to see how many owners in Oz are living with these problems when Ford tell you "oh thats just normal diesel operation love" So do you have a problem? Sad to hear...

first of all .. stay calm ... easier said than done ..
second: If you have a person knowing a bit about diesel engines invest in a diagnostic tool see here
www.autoenginuity.com/index.html thats what I have for my GM .. the proprietary codes are not finished yet for mine but all should be ok for yours ..
In AUS courts you can do a lot yourself and also there is the new petty court system where I think you have a better chance to get a quick solution without high legal cost. I suggest you get the tools (not very expensive) and get a clear picture first about what your engine is doing and not just the engine .. the diagnostic software will tell you a lot more .. and don't tell the dealer that you have it .. do everything in writing with the dealer ... ask them for test sheets of their inspections ... get a factory manual and just proof that the dealer is an idiot .. not very difficult in Australia .. many idiots among car dealers ... well that would be my approach if I would be in your shoes ... and there is still "A current affair" or "Today Tonight" ...
good luck

You say you uncle is a Diesel Fitter for CAT, Well F** the Ford dealership off as there mechanics wouldn’t know a Diesel engine from a Blow fish and get you Uncle to go over it.

Then if he can figure out what is going on, take it to ford and tell them what to fix.

Remember the Warranty will always take the cheaper option for the repair, so if you have a bent or cracked crankshaft

They will

A> Try and straighten the shaft
B> Replace the shaft, if it’s cracked or if it is bent beyond limit’s

Then put it back in wile not replacing bearings or rods, which could of also been damaged.

Cheers
