Skinny

Well looks like someone in Ashfield needs a treg hitch to go away for the school holidays. Shame that had to take mine in the middle of the night. Had tried to buy a lock just recently for it but would not fit my 80 series toyota original bar.
Feeling crapy.Hope they are happy.

Now where do I get one.

Have a good holiday and lock up your misses.

Probably the same bunch of Pr#*ks who knocked a heap of stuff out of my car when staying at the Ashfield Motel some years back. You will feel pretty peeved for some time. I lost nearly 10grand of stuff that night so I was peeved for a very long time and to a certain degree still am.
Maybe you could keep an eye on the trader section here as I saw Roachie had a similar hitch receiver for sale not long back so maybe another one to suit will come up soon.

Good luck.
Trevor.

Thanks Trevor, sorry to hear about your gear. Slack buggers. If they were in need I probably would not feel so bad. But I bet they have had thier eye on it or were driving around to find one and too tight to buy one.

Cheers

Sorry about that Skinny - I've had things stolen a couple of times and felt really angry because of the frustration that I couldn't do _anything_ because I had no idea who it was. No easy answer I'm afraid - although if you do find out an axe might help :) Call, if you need a hand with the axe.

Skinny,

It's not a good feel when this sort of thing happens. Theft is one of lowest forms of human behaviour and, apart from asset loss, can be very distressing.

In my case, I have a lock or chain on everything (much to the amusement of my mates when I'm struggling to find a key).

Most of this is for show. A determined thief will get what he wants, but in my case he'll have to work for it.

I empathise with your position and it's a timely warning for those who are travelling.

Regards

Kim

This is an all too familiar thing in Sydney unfortunately, On an even more unpleasant note, it would have been stolen so they could reverse up to someones hard earned camper trailer and make off with it!

An update, when buying a new hitch the guy said that every christmas he has an old guy come in with a ute with over 200 hithces in it load up. He offers them from $20 each. All types all used. Seems like someone should ask him where they came from. The guy from the tow shop said perhaps I should wait and see if mine turn up. Perhaps I better not, think of the time in court defending my actions when I met him.

Cheers Skinny

P.S. I have now decided to call crimestoppers with the info for what it is worth.
