There are a number of forums on the web but generally this place is pretty good, you do get the odd "interesting comment"
The van place should have things like sullage hose and water hose.
Make sure you don't use ordinary garden hose for your water supply as it will taint the water.
You may need a load levelling hitch depending on your tow vehicle and the van but again the van place should be able to fix you up with that. You will almost certainly need a few things like wheel chocks, ramps to level the van. or some flat wooden blocks to run the wheels up on
Make sure that you have at least one of the gas bottles filled up.
Make sure that they demonstrate how to put up the awning, run the
fridge and cooker. Don't leave till you know how to operate the van.

Good Idea, what type of van is it?
If you are interested there are a number of caravan clubs in and around
Sydney. There are a lot of people who have been
caravanning for years and they are a great resource.

There is a list of the clubs at the link
Enjoy the van.

Try groups.msn.com/Caravanersforum/, or maybe " target="EOF" class="lbg">www.supertramp.com.au/forum/.
Hope these are of some help.
I am not a virgin nanner, but like you, I am awaiting delivery of a new van and also have to travel to pick it up and at the moment my 4wd is full of boxs packed into the back that we are taking to fill up the new van.
I will be buying new hoses and 15 amp lead from the dealer and the rest of the gear I have (hopefully)
Good luck with the new van.
