I would disagree with reply from Lucy.
ALthough most vehicles manufactured in the last 5 years say every 10000kms, the TD42 engine is old indirect injection technology that circulates a lot of suspended soot in the oil, that is why the manual stipulates 5000kms oil changes or even more often if driven in difficult terrain ie: dust etc etc...
If the push comes to shove Nissan can legally get out of honouring the warranty due to inadecuate
servicing.
What is important is what is written on paper not what the sales guy said...
Check with Nissan as Truckster suggested but make sure that whatever it is, it is on writting....
It is unlikelly that you will have a problem, those engines go forever but... if you do it is a lot of money to fix an engine that has not been properly serviced... As everything gets affected by improper lubrication.
