I got tomtom nav 6 on my ipaq 2790, better than co-pilot, but when I put poi's into it, they show up ok when in select poi but on main nav screen when driving some dont.

Eg I have Shell / BP etc fuel listed, in poi's they show shell logo etc, but when driving just shows up as generic petrol station sign.

Anyone know how to get the logo onto main screen like all others eg maccas etc??

Rgds

The logos would have been provided by the party involved, if BP haven't provided their logos there's nothing you can do. I use it also, and I couldn't care for the logos. As long as you know where they are, thats all that matters to me. It may come in an updated version. Tom Tom 6 is a marked improvement over 5, much faster and more efficient and knows more places and streets that were missing from version 5. Logo's are up to the provider and I guess come at an expense, in other words Shell and Macca's would have paid to have their logos appear. Perhaps some of the others haven't caught onto this yet or aren't prepared to pay. It's all about the money..

Thanks for replies.

Guess I will live with it.

Reason I would like to see logos on driving screen is I drive vehicles which have particular fuel cards, so it would be good to see not just a servo but the logo as it stands out as yellow shell, green bp etc, just makes the fuel stops a bit easier to see.

The built in POI's show with the generic icon of a petrol station.

To get the driving map to show the custom icons you need to have the BP and Shell POI's in their own categories (and enabled) with a .bmp logo and in enable/disable POI you must turn of the generic Petrol station option as it's icon will overide the custom one when the POI's are in the same place.

I only have the Shell POI's and they show on the driving map as the Shell logo.

Peter,

Again thanks for this.

I am sure I tried disabling standard ones before, but will d/l poi's again and try it again with generic disabled.

Just makes it so much easier to see on map which station is approaching without having to tap screen to read text displayed.
