We have been there every Xmas for the past three years. Arrive on Xmas eave and leave around new years day. Xmas day lunch is always prawns and a nice
cool white wine followed by a Nana nap.
Find it is hot and the crowds start coming in on Boxing day.
The heat is not that bad just grab a stubby and sit in one of the many creeks.
There is a filter on the crowds in the form of
barge fees, limited
camping sites and no fires which I suspect is reducing numbers. Not complaining :).
The crowds appear to be back on the mainland side of the
barge where non 4x4 folk can camp.
Not going there this year as have other attractions
