barn door sqeaks in 80 series

has anyone out there overcome the battle with with rear barn door sqeaks on a standard 80 series?i have tried dry lube tape and adjusting and they all fix it for a short time .just when u think its right they start again,thanks in advance,,,, Ian

Had the same pesky noise for ages and got real mad and poured oil/ WD 40 down the inside of the r.h. door using the locking rods to feed it down and it disappeared for a long time, and i just keep giving it a dose when it re-appears!

amazing after I had spent so much time and agro looking to fix this really annoying squeek/rattle!

Your prayers have been answered (quite a while ago actually) - found this info on the 8O series owners website - "The two wonder ingeredients to toyota's cure for squeaky back barn doors are :
Parts numbers: 69350-60061 and 69470-60010
They are a new plastic coated lock mechanism and a new catch for the rear barn doors. (Can't remember which one's which but !) Look like they should be pretty easy to install - not real cheap though The catch is about $20 (au) and the lock mechanism is about $60 (au)"
I have no idea if they work - worth a try I suppose - I use to stick bits of cardboard everywhere! (I dont have an 80 anymore)- Cheers Greg
