Andrew,
If you go through
Nullagine and
Marble Bar the roads should be fine. It saves about an hour over the trip and breaks up the monotony of the blacktop. After
Marble bar if you turn towards Bamboo Creek and follow that road past the turn off to
coppins gap you will come across the road that leads to yarrie Mine. Turn left here and follow it past yarrie and through the old
Shay Gap townsite it goes all the way through to the Gt Northern Hwy abou t 100kms short of sandfire roadhouse. This is called the boreline road. The roads through here are good gravel but can have small patches of bulldust.
Cheers Matt.

Thanks Matt - but at the moment I think I'll stay on the blacktop for the sake of an hour or so.....I don't want to break the crissie presents.....Its funny how you can be in two minds about something like this, put up a post, and get a reply for each of your mindsets!
Cheers Andrew
