Hi bex,
Try Customline Camper Trailers at Beenleigh. We have one of their trailers and have just spent a week in central Qld in it and it was great. Stood up realy well to the wind out their.(very windy ie, 40 knots)
Talk to Dave Jenner. He is a hard person to communicate with but if you just ask what you need to know he will answer and that's all. All in all very helpful and a good product.
As far as camp-sites go their are heeps. Two of the best we have stayed at are Midginbil Hill (spelling ?) just past Uki on the Kyogle rd. And the other is Neurum Creek Bush Retreat which is west of Woodford on the way to Mt Mee. They have a great web site that you can pick your camp site from.
We did a 4x4 tour of Mt Mee State Forest while we were there last time and it was great. They have lots of activity's for the kids and have very big sites.
