Camping Nth QLD

Seeking help please.

We are heading north to meet the future daughter-in-law and want to find some good camping spots to hide out over the Easter break away from the crowds. We are travelling in an off-road van and don't need power, just access to fresh water every 4-5 days.

At this stage I anticipate we will be in the Townsville-Bowen area towards the end of this month. Not sure yet whether we will be coming inland or by the coast, but we are flexible.

Cheers

Bomber,

Do a place search for Wunjunga. I have loaded a few photo's of this place to this website before and I just love it. About 3K's sth of Inkerman you will see a small sign indicating the way, it's on the coast sth of Inkerman. Also near Inkerman, I also like Groper Ck caravan park, just don't expect 4 star facilities here.

Plenty of real nice spots just nth of Townsville, Rollingstone being one of the best in my opinion.

Enjoy your stay in NQ.
Trevor.

Hi Andrew, that's the one. It is a great name for the "rest area" but my prefered spot is actually to camp near the entrance to the beach as it has nicer outlook first thing of a morning.

Still laughing at the namè thanks for the giggle. Trevor.

You could also try Bowling Green Bay NP about 30k sth of Townsville. Alligator Ck camping area there is also quite nice.
