Hello All,
I have been driving around (very carefully) without any electrical brake system on our camper trailer.
I want to remedy this situation.
I will buy a brake controller to have installed.

Two questions

are the Tekonsha Prodigy on E-BAY ok?
Does anyone know of a reliable and reasonably priced auto electrician in the Inner Eastern suburbs of Melbourne?

Thanks

Malcolm

Malcolm,

Derek from ABR advertises on here and sells these via e bay also.

He is a wealth of knowledge and IMO is very well priced. From the ones that I just saw on E Bay they appear to be the genuine ones.

Sorry I cant help with the Auto Elec but from what I have heard the controllers are very simple to install.

Cheers Kev

Don't know the prices on ebay, but a Prodigy shouldn't cost you more than the $ 150 mark !! Just look around and you should get one for close to that !!

G'day Malcolm
Fitting the controller into the vehicle is really easy. There are only 4 wires to connect. And the unit tells you if you've done it correctly once you attach the wired up trailer. So that's a cost saving alternative to the auto electrician.
Bought mine from Derek - excellent service and pretty good price. Whilst he may be OS, surely he didn't just close the business whilst away??

Got mine from Derek, is definitely a genuine unit. Most say it is top of the range. Get it on the internet, and install it yourself (if you can be bothered - it's not hard) If not that way inclined, get a mate with a little handyman blood in him and you should be right.

$200 total including installation vs $600 all up from a caravan type workshop!
