donkey

Hello to everyone, I was hoping others who own 100 series landcruisers diesel if that helps, can relate why rain water is leaking down under carpet, on drivers side, no water signs on top of carpet, when I pulled out rubber plug underneath, a lot of water came out hole, there is no obvious leak of any description on windscreen, car is kept in great condition, windscreen has no cracks at all. Any Ideas.

Have you installed roof racks recently?
LC100 have a tendency to leak through the bolts on the roof for the roof racks.
Small thin washers come with the vehicle. Make sure you do not loose them or use thread seal when you put the bolts back in.

Hopes this is of some help.

Regards

Thanks for that, we are now looking closely at rack, it was reinstalled in February, every bolt was tight,, it is hard to understand how water could get under any of these bolts, but I will on weekend, remove and reinstall with sealant , thanks for help

Try a pressure hose along your windscreen seal and you may find a leak, also check on the firewall to see if any water is coming through on cables through grommets that might not be as well sealed as they look.
Obvious ones are cables pointing down as they travel from the engine bay inwards. Perhaps seal these up.
Other than there two known issues I don't know of any other.

Thanks Dustin, I have tried hose pressure on screen, but the leak has occurred twice, once after returning from camping trip to Murray, I found water under carpet, after it had rained, , but the second time was when car had been parked at home, it rained, and then found again water under floor, and again when released plug underneath, reasonable amount of water came out from behind plug, so as car had not moved, I now think as said earlier it has to be pack rack

Could also be Airconditioning Condensation running back through the firewall, if you are using your A/C a lot and it is humid.

on either side of the windscreen on the outside are two screws that hold trim in place, the self tappers go into the A pillar remove the screws and reseal with some silicon and re install, this may be the problem, this occurred on my cruiser after a new screen was installed.

With my prado, I just recently found a leak and drip inside at the driver footing when it rained. Tracked it to a few wires running through a grommet from the engine bay to inside. For whatever reason, something had moved and the normal water run off found a little spot to drip on the wires in the engine bay, and it run along the wire, through grommet into the driver footwell, and dripped off. Fixed it just by a piece of electrical tape to shield the exact spot on the grommet/wire from the drip in the engine bay.

Another problem is if the vehicle has had a roofrack and has been used in rough country/roads the actual turret cracks around where the rack mounting points are letting water in and sometimes causing a squeak as the metal edges rub.
