I bought these shockers ($110ea) last weekend and installed them myself on a 95 triton dc 4wd... really easy except for the lpg tank in the way on one side. Took the 4wd to Wombat on Sunday and what a difference the shockers alone have made, both on road and off... especially over the corregated tracks. I am running Cooper STT's and before the change I could barely hear the radio so the road noise has decreased dramatically. Previous to these shockers the car had Monroe Gas (12000km) which are no way near as good as these. I took a punt on these shockers because of their reputation with springs and the spec sheet.

I would like to know if anyone else is using or has used these shockers and how do they rate to some of the more $$$ expensive brands. I did have the option of fitting EFS for around the same price but decided otherwise.

Hi fankl,
Am I right in thinking that you are saying the road noise on black top has decreased after you fitted the new Lovells shocks ?

Road noise has reduced because the new shocks are keeping the tyres on the road better - less "patter" less noise.

This will in turn provide much better braking and cornering.

Hi Gerhardp1,
On smooth black top I would not have expected the tyres to be "pattering" to the point where it was so noticeable.

I've got 'em on the Chevissan and they are good stuff in the bush - dirt tracks as well as creeks 'n "ruff stuff".

They are highly recommended by Brunswicks that did my conversion. They've worked out well. A fair bit harder than standard and far less liable to "whoop dee dooh" over repetitive lumpy bits. Provide a very stable ride with little or no 'dancing across' on corrugations.

2nd outing today to Tallarook and yes, they behaved perfectly down telephone track and if anyone is familiar with it then you know how difficult it is. some of the boys from the 4wd club are now considering to give them a go. for anyone looking for shockers, just dont discount them because they dont cost as much as bilsteins. for the record, i have no vested interest in lovells.

These sound good, where did you get them from? I do a fair amount of corrugated road as i'm currently in The Kimberley and go fishing up to Willie Creek and also going to Cape Leveque and The GRR again this year, so far not been that impressed with the Old Man Emu shockies that I've got and need to replace them anyway as 1 is leaking.
