NP Pajero Suspension Upgrade

Hi
I thinking of upgrading the Pajero NP 2003 Exceed Suspension. Currently use it mainly for touring and will be towing a Jurgen Xplorer. I also like a lift of about 50cm if its possible. Has anyone any experience with upgrading the suspension in this model Pajero. Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

The 50cm lift would be pretty wild! I guess you mean 50mm . 50mm is the upper limit due to the independent suspension, most people get somewhere between 30mm-50mm. I use OME in mine and got about 30mm, I chose OME as they were the most popular and had a good reputation 4 years ago. Now there are a few more players, the most common setup now is King springs and Bilstein shocks, most people would recommend them. Pop over to www.pajeroclub.com.au and do a search on suspension, hours of reading for you.

Hi John.
I recently did the same exercise & ended up with King springs & Bilstein shocks.
A much better ride great off the black stuff!! I went for the HD spring, not the extra HD.

Accept good advice gracefully - as long as it doesn't interfere with what you intend to do.

My previous vehicle was an NM Paj which is basically the same suspension as the NP. I went the ARB/OME setup and was very happy. Went the HD springs in the rear. Certainly added to the off road capability.

I would not go higher than 40mm. I think that is pretty standard. I think the only issue can be uneven tyre wear. I keep and eye on it can get then to adjust (the camber I think) and rotate the tyres regularly.

Also slightly bigger tyres can help. I have 275/70 on my NP 02 Exceed.

I have the Bilsten and HD Springs. I also have polyairs in the back for when I have the camping trailer on or I am loaded up.

Heaps better handling on the road and offroad is excellent.
