G'day Doug,

Is that one of the trucks in the open air museum at PT Headland?
In particular, was that one of the early trucks that used to cart manganese ore from Woodie Woodie Mine to Pt Headland?

Regards
Stu

Just out of interest, there's another one residing out the front of Landor Station homestead east of Meeka on the Gascoyne River crossing. Also of note is an old Kaiser 6x6 (I think?) on Pardoo Station and down at Williams there's a collection of classics including old Gardner powered AEC's and Foden's.

And didn't Mr Rhodes build up that custom twin engined monster? Seem to remember something like that up at Newman too - rotting away in a yard near that big 6 wheeler Haulpak opposite the pub.

While I'm rambling away here, at the tavern in Samson there's a pic of an old B Model Mack road train towing 5 trailers of asbestos out of Wittenoom. Try reversing that one back when you've overshot the turnoff.;-)

I remember something about a fleet of Leyland's during WW2 carting supplies to Darwin as well. Hippo's maybe? The Army also had a few Scammels for tank transporters in the 60's / 70's.
