I have had one for five years and wouldn't be without it.
I guess it depends on how many of you there are. I bought mine because I have young kids and wanted room and comfort. Freinds of mine bought smaller campers but when it is raining all day guess where everyone hangs out....yep thats right in the Trak Shak. The fact that it has a 12x12 ft area that is free from obstructions sure makes winter camping a breeze.We have so little time to enjoy our land

Judi, Have heard nothing but good things, we nearly bought one but will go for a Deluxe Camper. The Deluxe is about $4-5000 less and when you compare the two off them together, they are basically the same, except the Deluxe provides a few better things eg. stronger bearings, NEW tyres and rims. Deluxe also hire them out, maybe they sell their ex hire ones as well. One advantage with Trak Shak is that they have 4 models to choose from, Deluxe one, but it is big.

looked at them at Sydney show liked the room but boss said bed didn't like ladder to get in bed so ordered a kimberly instead. everything i hear about them is good. as to 2nd hand try their web site or tradingpost but i was looking for 2nd hand & didn't find many checked previous post & deluxe had several for sale

Judi,we have had one since 1994. In 1995 we spent 10 Months travlling 35000ks around Aust in it. That is me the wife our 2 and a half yr daughter and 13 month old son. We looked at a lot of trailers for about a yr before deciding on the trac shak. We bought the deluxe size. Reasons why we bought a Trak Shak 1-its unique desine-the way it folds out to the side then out to the back gives you the most room of any trailer on the market. 2-The hard enclosed dust sealed top containing the tent has kept the tent even now looking new.3-the fact that you have space for 12 x 20 Ltr containers on the sides that are much more protected than other trailers. 4-It tracks in the same line as the car.5-The fact that we could put the same size tyres on the trailer as the car.6-The stone gaurd on the front of the trailer-it protects the trailer and also stops rocks from bouncing up and hiting the rear of the car.7-You can open it from the front or back.8-Suspention-We got the standard leaf springs and axel with shocks-never had a problem.9-The ease of setting up-we did some overnighters-just 2 poles 2ropes and 4 pegs and you can get into bed.10-The fact that you can leave your beding in the trailer. 11-the treg coupling. Where did we take it? 60% dirt tracks 40% tar. 50% bush camps(no facilities),Others National Parks(limited facilities),some caravan parks. From Sydney- Barrys Way over the snowy mts, Great Ocean Rd,Grampions,Along the Murry River, Flinders Ranges,Oodnadatta Track,Alice springs-all the west& east Macdonald Ranges,Tanami track Windham,Humbert Trail thru Gregory NP, Darwin ,Kakado-Jim Jim Falls camp,Back to WA,Gibb River Rd,All the way in to the Mitchell Falls camp,Brome, Cape Leveque,Hamesley Ranges,Exmouth,Along the coast thru Ningaloo station,Canarvon,Monkey Mia,Kalbarri,Geraldton,The coastal track from Cervantes to Lancelin including beach driving,Perth,All thru the southen forests,Esperance,Home via the Nullarbor and Murry River. As you can see we gave it a good workout.We never had any problems. We saw canvas topped trailers that were always having trouble with dust getting into there tents.Others with loose suspention bolts. When we got back we had to re-water proof the canvas and replace the front door zipper.We still use the trailer about twice a yr for weekends and holidays and its still going strong.I have still not seen a better design of trailer and I have no hesitation in recomending them to you. How much are you wanting to spend? I have a friend here in Sydney who has one and he asked if I wanted to buy it. I borrowed it from him and I would have bought it if I had the money - it was fantastic!! He is looking at around 15k I think. It is is very good nick and has all the gear.

Judi we have had one forabout 7yrs now.Ours in the top one -- it is the largest of them all. We had been looking around for 2 or 3 years before we decided on the trak shak . We were going to buy the middle of the range one and then put a mossy net around the verander but then got talked into buying the larger one. In hind-site we should have bought the middle one I think .It takes a bit more foling up than the middle one , not as bad though when you hve no bedding inside. If you go to caravan parks ( which I rarely do ) it can be a bit awkward finding a spot.
The sealed top also won us over as we new it would keep out the dust and then when it was not in use the mice and rats would not eat the canvas. There is plenty of storage in the trailer plus room for 9 jerry cans and two gas bottles on the sides.
Fully loaded the trailer weighs just under a tonne. The trak shak has been over some very rough roads with out giving us any trouble. the only thing we will have to do is replace the mesh stone guard.
After service care is excellent. David (Ithink thats his name ) is only too keen to help you out any time.
