What UHF Radio to I buy

Hi all,

Just looking for some suggestions on brands and models
of UHF radio I should buy. I dont venture too far off the
tar and only really want it for added security.

I have a GME TX3400, no problems with this one, good if you have limited dash space, also not as easy to steal from the vehicle seeing as it's in two locations if this is a problem. Not the cheapest UHF radio you can buy, depends how much you have to spend.Keep the shiny side up

Go with the GME in UHF, they shat on Unidung... Threw my UH011 in the bin...

I now have GME 3400 remote head with the cop channels programmed in, no wonder they can never catch anyone! its funny to listen to!

Telstat in Seaford will do it too. $15 or was last time I asked.

You can have ANY frequency programmed in. They do it from the Mic plug.

Agree with all so far, I too have a TX 3400, and am very happy with th performance (sold off my UH100)

All of our work mobiles are TX3200, these are equally impressive without all the bells and whistles.

Only thing is you cannot program them in yourself unlike the latest model but its disadvantage is that it is a lot bigger.

The software to program the radio yourself would no doubt be available on Kazaa. I will take a look around and get back to you. I asked a electronics wiz mate of mine who suggested I take a look at kazaa. He said the software is easy to get hold of.

I know I'm too late, and the 3400 is very good, but I got the 4400 - cost less than 3400 and fits directly into my Prado dash below the cassette/radio. Has 20 additional cop channels (20) that I could do myself. You'll always be satisfied with a GME product. If you're in Melbourne, I still have the frequency list, but the sellers will usually program them in for you. Cheers.Russell S
