My only comment would be that at 1.3 mega pixels, you might be disappointed in quality of the pictures, particularly the ability to print say, 6" x 4" copies. These days, digital cameras are moving towards 5 mega pixels and that is just enough to print a good quality 8" x 10" image.
If it was me and I wanted to take some lasting images in out of the way
places, I would god for higher pixels and trade off the fact that I would need to take a bit more care with the camera in terms of dust, moisture etc. You might want to have a look at this Canon camera (I'm a user, not a canon employee).

It's 3.2 megapixelas and you can get a waterproof case for it.
