Anyone visiting the Davenport Ranges National Park please be advised that the road/track from Epenarra Station to the Barkly Hwy is closed to the public.

In the past it has been open and I have driven with permission it but due to possible Insurance Claims and also that no funding has been received from the NT Government to maintain this private road on Epenarra Station it is now closed until further notice.

I ventured to ask Why? from the Station Managers and got a terse reply and a bit of a carry-on. The lady did calm down after a few minutes as I showed no hostility and agreed with what she said. Strange, eh?...lol

So for us it was a long way around to the Barkly via Tennant Creek and Three Ways

Cheers

Grunter

Camping is at Old Police Station Waterhole in the NP. Dishonesty Box Camping fees at $3.30pp/pn. Very nice place. Longdrop and water from the waterhole. Lots of birdlife but getting busy these days with more and more travelers staying over. Take a drive along the Frew River Track which takes 2 hours for the 17km.

Cheers
