Have a look at the Lake Eyre Yacht Club site. If the guy who maintains the site is at home he will have it up to date.

If he is out sailing then the lake has water.

It's an amusing website either way.

Hi Steve
Was there 3 weeks ago. Went up for a flight with the guys from Wrights air (based at William Creek)
Water was only in the far north reaches. Water was also in the Warburton channel. Still great to see and there was plenty of bird life. Ducks, pelicans...
The patterns left by the water on the dirt/salt is great.
The painted desert is also great to see on Anna Creek station.
Flight was around 2 1/2 hrs.
Met the guy from Lake Eyre yacht club. Had just finished a few days sailing. Was on his way home.
Check in Wright's Air. They will let you know. http://www.wrightsair.com.au
Regards
Andrew

We took flight from Marree and yes it was worth to fly. There is always little bit of water on Lake Eyre. It never ever totally dries out.
From this flight you will see the Marree Man – biggest picture on the Earth – “near” Lake Eyre.
It is wonderful side, and altogether different of anything you will see from small plane anywhere else…….

G'day Gob and Denny,

I flew over the southern part of the lake from William Creek in late May. The attached pic is of Halligan Bay. You can also drive to this point from William Creek.
