I am currently looking at buying a 2000 100 Series Landcruiser with original factory front and rear locking differentials. Has anybody had any experience with these, good or bad?

Thanks in advance.

Hi There
I have run the genuine diff locks on 3 cruisers in the last 12 years and am yet to have any problems.
I did a few years ago use them in a winch challenge and they did what was asked.
The way the system works is fool proof and to a certain extent control by an ECU
There ony draw back is they do not act ( engage / disengage ) as quick as air lockers my new truck will arrive with factory lockers

I have the factory locker in the rear of my 100 and never had a problem, only downside apart from it being a bit slower to engage (which really isn't an issue) is that it can't be engaged in high range. Sometimes I would like it when playing in the mud or on the sand in high range.

Don't know how they block it, but would be fairly easily hacked, I imagine. Just a wiring modification?

I have a mate who works at a toyota dealership and runs airlockers on his cruiser and reckons that the toyota setup is far better, no o rings for starters, or the need to run a compressor
