Looks like a fabulous trip, only wish we had the time to do one similar. What was the group you travelled with?

RnR, great photos, good enough to make a lot of people very jealous! how did all the vans go? in particular any internal dust problems? The photo of the Canning stock route looks as though it would shake the vans to bits. According to previous posts,I'm like a few people on here looking for an offroad van and trying to find that elusive balance between cost/weight/tuffness/accessability etc and the trackmaster looks like it can handle most things.
Thanks, Craig

Briggzee,

All the vans including the larger ones at 17'6" handled the conditions without any problems. Several tyre problems after leaving Alice but these were caused by too much pressure. Most of us ran our tyre pressures around the 25 to 30 psi mark and dropped speeds accordingly. Much kinder on the van and contents. A little bit of dust in some of the vans mainly through back window and the breathe holes in the bottom of the door. Both easily fixed.

I'm very conscious of weight as well and that is one of the reasons why I chose the Trakmaster. It's tough enough to do just about any road in Oz. We only travelled about 5km's on the Canning to camp at well 33.

Hope that helps.

G'day RnR,
Great shots of what must have been a memorable trip. Seeing the Gibb River Road brought back many memories of when I did it in 1999 towing my 16ft. Windsor Escape. I couldn't help notice you had a roll out awning fitted which did not go past your cut away at the back of your van, but seemed to go all the way down at the front. I have been looking around for many years for a roll out awning for my van which has the cut away at the back but have been told they do not make them. Several salesmen have said they can organise a bracket the be fitted which extends down past the cut away but that would negate the whole purpose of having the cut away. I would be pleased if you could provide any info. on your awning.

Hi Peter (1)

The awning is an electrolux and was supplied new when I purchased the van. You could try contacting Trakmaster in Melbourne on toll free 1800 809 194.
