Camper trailer on the Birdsville track

We are planning a trip from Melb through the Flinders Ranges up To Birdsville then over to Brisbane. Wondering what it is like to tow a camper trailer up the Birdsville track. Camper is an off road set up with alko suspension towed by TDI Discovery. Heading off Dec. Any thoughts appreciated

Scott, you should have no problems at all with the trailer, as the track is quite accessable these days. Provided that your vehicle and trailer are in top condition and you take it easy, you can travel fromm Maree to Birdsville in a day, but do yourself a favour and take at least a couple of days and really have a look around. There are lots of historic and interesting things to see along the track, as well as some top camping spots. Clayton wetlands are a good campsite and the hot spring at Mungerannie is really refreshing after a day on the track. Good campsites too, if it's not too busy. Happy trails, Mike.

YOU'LL HAVE NO PROBLEMS ON THE BIRDSVILLE TRACK, BUT IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THE ROAD FROM BIRDSVILLE THROUGH BETOOTA TO WINDORAH THEN BE CAREFUL IT IS A SHOCKER.THE ROAD NORTH TO BOULIA IS A LOT BETTER
