Garmin 60 CSx/T4A

Mijanou

Hi everyone,
I just loaded the T4A map on my Garmin and I am wondering why
I don't see the tracks on my Garmin while I see them on my computer in Map source.
Do I have to be on the road to see them ?
I choosed for ex. the track/gravel road to the Bungle Bungles.
I put a way point on the start of the road but all I see on my Garmin is the flag, even at 300m zoom.
I live in Europe and am coming to Australia on Sept.15
Thanks for your help

Hi Mijanou,

It sounds like you have not uploaded the mapset to your Garmin device.
To do this connect your GPS through the USB cable and then use the MAP Select on Mapsource to select al of the maps that you want to be able to see on your GPS. Then you just need to click on the icon that shows a little GOS device with an arrow pointing into it. This will upload all of the maps you have selected into your device.
With T4A you will have no problem fitting the whole of Australia into the memory card of a MAP60CSx.
I hae exactly the same GPS with Metroguide, Bluecharts, T4A, T4A Pro, and now Shonkymaps all installed on the card.
I would recommend you do a search for Shonkymaps and install them. I rarely use anything else now except when I am in my yacht using the Bluecharts.
Shonkymaps are free and can be downloaded from a couple of different sources but I think Shonky has now set up a small site specifically for downloading Shonkymaps. The file size is about 330Mb if that is an issue.

I hope this helps.

Brett

Hi Brett
Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, I did upload the mapset to my
Garmin, I even checked all the maps I selected are there that's why I do not understand why I do not see them on the screen when I select a way point

Could it just be something as simple as the "Detail" setting in "Map Setup - General" being set to "Least" instead of "Most"?

If it's loaded onto your Garmin (as you say) then you probably haven't selected it as the map to view.
