Member - The Crow (QLD)

Well we finely have it after a 6 month wait. Delivered yesterday 4.30Pm. Was it worth the wait? You betcha!!! Off to Brisbane in the morning to give it a bit of a run before we hitch up the van on Sunday for a short two week trip to Sydney and Canberra. Will be interesting to see what sort of fuel economy we get for the trip.

Thats why we are doing a trip to Brisbane so we can at least have the 800 to 1000ks up before we tow as stated in the owners Manual. I agree with you both but we ordered this cruiser at Easter and were told that it would be six to eight weeks thinking that it would be well and truly here and run in before we were to go on our holidays. We told the salesman when we were going and were told not to worry it would be here. We have been on tender hooks counting down the days for delivery.

At least ask an opinion from the dealers workshop manager.
Conventional wisdom was to run the engine in fairly gently for a thousand Kms or two. Check your drivers manual . I wouldnt do it anyway and particularily if any hills were to be encountered.
Just my opinion even if based upon years of old technology.

Ours has just ticked over 16,000ks.

Around town we get 11-12 litres/100k, on the highway (not towing) it's 12-13 l/100, towing the van it's anywhere between 17 and 20 l/100 depending on hills and headwinds.

If you have a GPS it would be interesting to compare your speedo. Mine overreads by 6% ie, indicating 100kph I'm actually doing 94 (good safety buffer there) but the odometer is spot on.

You will enjoy the power. There are some pictures on "my rig".

BTW I'm putting a chip on it on Thursday. Apparently it gives another 32kW and 130nM. Will report back.

I am surprised by those figures - I had expected much better.
