has anyone seen the michelle's sacs troopy at one of the shows around the country?......if so do you think that a 1993 troopy totally rebuilt (including new motor) and complete with all the bells and whistles should have an asking price of $55,000?.......mind you I do like the 4 extra side doors.

Having seen it at an Adelaide 4wd show, and reading of
all the changes/accessories, I would not think that would
be too unreasonable.

But to each his/her own........

Cheers

I suppose if you like it?
is it your type of vehicle?
what would the replacement cost be?
how much would it cost you to purchase a standard one and do the mods?

you have to ask yourself.
All the same it is virtually a one off vehicle and looks good as well.

I have been told that it is an ex telstra vehicle who had it modded that way. Apparently there are a couple more similar to that floating around the east.

Saw it at this year's Caravan & Camping Show at Belmont Pk. Has more bells and whistles than you can poke a stick at. Heaps of stuff that can go wrong. The side doors gave it an unusual feel when you sit in it. If in WA it will more than likely be at the show next weekend?

thanks for your replies. I thought it was a great rig.. a troopy to me has one problem and that is there is difficulty accessing 1/2 the car b/c of no 2nd set of doors. This converted troopy seemed to solve this issue perfectly......but it had too many accessories that upped the price to ridiculous levels for a 1993 car

Monica,
That conversion would have cost a heap, and I'd expect a fair bit of convincing to get the engineer's tick. That asking price is ridiculous.

Most people get better access by fitting a solid canopy onto a 79series traytop, with full width liftup doors.

Mods and conversion would have cost in excess of $40k I think. I saw it in bne - hope it comes with a ladder, it's too bloody high to get to anything.

Just for interest sake- what is the 'book' price for the vehicle of that vintage??
Bearing in mind, when you come to insure it I'm sure no company would insure it for an exhorbitant price !!

I think I saw it at the Sydney outdoor show last weekend . It looked good , with millions of electronic gadgets and four side windows at the back .

I guess they want a new V8 Troopy .

our 1st reaction was also the issue of registering the rig. I certainly was wary of all the trouble this could bring to the buyer. Anyway, we are looking at the new V8 troopy.....Has anyone got one and how is it?. We would love to have this with the Sacs troopy's 4 extra side doors....does anyone do these conversions?
