On fiddling around to-day I discovered the hose at the tee in the air line to the waste
gate actuator was dissconected, the short section of hose had softened and become de-tached from the barbed tee -- this would effectivily dissable the waste
gate. This tee was fitted when Motson power chip installed -- it has an adjustabe valve at the end of to alter boost pressure. Poor quality hose was used for the tee section as the original hose either side of tee was still fimly attached and not softened.
The waste
gate was seized but able to be freed up with a spanner on the linkage, I tested actuator with air pressure from tyre compressor -- had to keep pressure low to prevent damage to diaphragm. If anyone tries this ensure linkage is free before pressure test of actuator. Unsure if I have cured problem -- maybe fuel cut out was operating due to high boost ?? The only manual I could find is for GQ 2.8 non-intercooled and mine looks different in a few areas, eg no blow off valve on mine, that I can locate anyway.
