Black Wolf Turbo tent

Submitted: Saturday, Dec 01, 2007 at 22:37

Oldman

Hi,
I just bought a Black Wolf Turbo Compact tent.

A couple of questions which some one may help me with.

When you fold out the poles are they supposed to be completely straight - the picies look like they are but mine aren't. They are slightly bent

Also I did not get any additional guy ropes for the flap and no pegs at all. Is taht normal

Not sure what you mean by the poles are slightly bent... I have one, and as I recall (I am not going to set it up to check - it is a Turbo Lite Twin and still takes a while) at the fancy little lock open thingy, they make a slight angle.

There are guy ropes in the little zip pockets of the flap on the turbo lite (neat neat idea), but there is also one orange guy rope and peg for each post of the verandah.

I hope that heolps
Andrew.

Andrew,
That is what I meant - the black elbow (or may be metal in your case) is at a slight angle, so poles not straight. So sounds right.

I seem to be missing that additional ropes - the ones to hole the fly poles up and there are no pegs.

Richard, check out the web site below, scroll to the bottom of page and click on the "Touring Tents" link.
Scroll down until you come to the Black Wolf "Turbo Compact" and use the links there to see what you should have got with your tent and there is also a step by step diagram for pitching the tent.

I bought a Turbo Lite FS 250 and I didn't have the problems that you seem to have, I also got a bag containing pegs and guy ropes plus support poles for the veranda.

Cheers John.

John,
I got no bag with pegs and additional ropes.

There also seems to be a fault in the tent as it has markings on the tent in blue texter high lighting an area.

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to check it out when I bought it and I bought it interstate so am a bit stuffed.

Call them up and put the onus on them... they are the ones leaving you in the poo.

You couldn't be expected to set it up before you left the shop.

And if it has blue texta on it, maybe they should replace the whole tent - perhaps it has been returned and that is why you got it at the good price you did?

Cheers
Andrew.

Andrew,
I have called them and they are going to gte back to me. Hopefully I will gte my money back or a new tent - they seem fairly helpful so am hopeful.

By the way how do you like the Turbo Lite compared to other - I was wandering what the difference is between the Lite and standard.

The compact I got should be ok for two of us - I want to use it as a weekender or short touring tent.

I tossed around for a canvas tent but the BW seem to be a very good tent

Any way will wait and see what happens
