Making a better Pajero

Submitted: Thursday, Nov 08, 2001 at 00:00

Mark

Hi All. I'm relatively new to the world of 4wding, and have bought a SWB NH Pajero. It handles okay, but I would like to beef it's ability up a bit, mainly around shocks and springs. Does anyone have any suggestions to what I could do? Thanks! Great site too!

Cairns Offroad Training & Tours replied:

Paul if you are truely new to 4wdriving the best money you could spend at this stage would be on an accredited training course. A skilled driver in a standard vehicle will go places an inexperienced driver in a modified vehicle can only dream about. The Pajero is a very competent 4wd and your learning curve will take some time before you can competently drive it to its limits. Welcome to the world of 4wds.
Cheers Rob

Mark: don't complicate things... use your vehicle a little first, then improve as you find weaknesses-- don't rush out and spend a heap of dough on a vehicle that may not be suitable for what you want! Where do you want to go ? What did you buy it to do ? You only say you have one that does not leave your 'helpers' with any idea of what you intend to do ? Simpson Desert , Gulf Track, Cape York, Tanami ... or just trying to break it to pieces Rock Hopping !!

Help us to help you !! what do you want it to do ??
