yep which winch do i buy, i am looking for something that will last the distance........not tooo expensive and not too cheap....... and yep thats my wanted ad in the trader

Try an Ironman winch. They are not that expensive and the ironman company have a good reputation for after sales service.

Also from memory Truckster mentioned a month or so ago that he had a couple of
winches that he was doing up that he was going to sell in the new year.
I am not sure if this is still the case, he might reply when he see's this.

Hi guys,
The Ironman looks as though it comes out of the same factory as my Aldi winch. The remote control is identical.
The 9500lb Aldi cost me $599 incl the wireless remote. It works
well too 40+ degree day winching my FIL out of the Mitchel River near Dunbar and even snapped a 10ton extension strap like it it was cut and the winch wasn't even fully loaded up.
3 year warranty too!!

I would have an Ironman winch in a trice, but they weren't out when I bought my Premier winch which I am rapt in.
Both are good value

Now if I count up all the times Lucky has "failed to proceed" i have to take off both shoes (if I count on my toes), deduct the no of times I have failed to proceed and I still have two shoes off.
