Hi all, I see there is a gathering at West Kunderang in a few weeks time. A few friends and us have just spent 5 days there, and what a beautiful place it is!
Well worth the trip through the forest on the dirt road and the steep descent onto the property to get there. (There is a
lookout on the road, not far back from the
locked gate, it is a must see with spectacular
views up the valley). The
camping grounds are immaculate, the view is awesome and the river is a lot of fun. We had blow up boats in our group and the kids spent hours rafting down the river.
A truly beautiful place, one which we will come back to again for sure!
Cheers
Brian

Brian,
Agree with your sentiments! Christine and I really enjoyed our stay there as
well.
Did you drive in from Armidale or come up from Kempsey?

Hi Ian...
we drove in from the
Gold Coast to Nymboydia, to
Ebor, then turn at Kempsey Rd, turn again Raspberry Rd, then West Kunderang.
A most picturesque place!
Cheers

G'day Brian. A very Happy New Year to you and yours. I'm the silly mug who said "why don't we have a gathering closer to home" and West Kunderang is the result. Thanks for the plug - appreciated.
Cheers

That's for sure, in addition to being a top place, Cindy and Max are lovely people to boot.
For those who may be attending Kunderang for the first time I would like to offer the following.
If attending from Sydney/Sthn NSW give consideration to going up the
New England Highway and then in from Armidale. Take some extra fuel and when leaving turn right off Rasberry Road onto the Kempsey - Armidale Rd. and follow it down to Kempsey then home via the Pacific Hwy.
Be sure to stop at Georges
Creek for smoko, another top
camping spot and free to boot. Spent eight days there in November for some top Bass fishing.
