I run a Safari Turbo and intercooler on a 2003 1HZ 105 series. I do not get any overheating problems at all with it, infact the engine runs slightly cooler now.
Do you have a EGT (Exhaust Gas Tempretiure) guage on yout engine to monitor what the turbo is doing ?. It is possible that the installer of the turbo has set it up with to much boost, resulting in too high a EGT when under load. This could be the cause of the overheating. However, this could also result in premature failure of the engine. If this is the cause you need to get it checked ASAP.
Other get the normal causes of overheating checked.
- Is the Radiator fan coupling working ok ?
- Is the Radiator not blocked (Internally anbd externally) ?
- Is the coolent ok ?
etc.
IMHO, there is something wrong with your engine/cooling system at the moment that is the root cause of your problem. You need to find out what that is before any more damage is done to the engine.
