ive seen it done bye just removing the chrome suround with out removing the whole pita grille surounds ect.
4 tiny x screws and the light will come out then when its out it will be easier to take stupid wire loom of

They do tend to be pretty tight, don't they? Try levering a small screwdriver under them to break the sealing.

Replace headlight bulb

I changed mine on a 97 80 series from the engine bay side. It is a bit tight but still the best way. The rubber cover will peel off the back of the lens assembly. The bulb is held in with a circular ring clip.
Make sure you keep track (maybe mark it with a felt tip pen) of the position of the clip so that you have no trouble replacing it correctly, otherwise it can be a bugger of a job as you can not see in there very well and it is done mostly by feel. Easy if you have the clip correctly aligned.

g/day Tony the rubber seal does come off but its very fiddley as it is water and dust proof, I did a globe upgrade last year ,once you get the first one off it gets easier, the seal has a double lip, the first lip goes inside the light and the globe contacts come thru this to the fitting you disconnected, be careful not to touch the new globe. good luck.P/S it might be easier if you remove the battery.

The rubber seals are hard to get off if never been off before. The heat from the lamp seems to bond them on.

By far the quickest and easiest way is to remove the outer headlanp rim and park lamps and then remove the chrome retaining rims and drop the light out. That way you can get the rubber off and can see the clip and easily put the new globes in.

If you try to access from the rear your battery/s washer bottle etc are all in the way plus you cant see a thing
