Wayne & others,
I was at work today in Maffra - quite a number of 'slip-ons' went through town heading up towards Buchan/Bendoc etc.
Going by the local news and the DSE/CFA websites they've done a pretty good job of getting them under control.
It's amazing how a significant event like last year's fires can open the Government coffers - seems like they've got more staff and definitly more aircraft to use this time around.
Fingers crossed, the local 'Boy's Trip' won't be in danger of 'going up in flames' this year!
Tim

Have a look at the hugh amount of resources poured into the recent fires on
Kangaroo Island. The place was almost going under due to the extra weight overload. No doubt a result of the failure of certain parties at the disatrous/fatal
Eyre Peninsula fires a couple of years ago in which many people needlessly died. Perhaps they (head honchos) have finally learned something !
