Richard, can you explain to a dummy a few things.
What is the "map source program" I thought that this was just a linking piece of software that enabled you to then get OZ topo.
You say' and the maps are just as bad' What maps?
I have a 530 and am thinking of getting the new Oz topo. Is this a bad choice?

map source is the Garmin program that you use to interface with the unit also to plan trips make and save waypoints routes all the things you do with a mapping program.

the unit is not mine and has been givin back but I think they where sinces (spelling) maps of OZ but I got the nuvi working but could get Mapsourse to unlock the maps..
