Looking to
camp down
Denmark WA way soon. Two campsites interest me, Parry Beach
Camping area and William Bay
camp near Elephant rocks. We will be towing a camper and need a roomy
campsite. Any advice on area greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Mick.

Parry's sounds great but does it fill up over
easter? I hoped it was far enough away from
Perth to avoid crowds?

Everywhere fills up down that end of the world,if you want to stay away from the crowds when down south,,,i think it will be very hard for you to find somewhere. If anything 08 9848 2055 ,,,might pay to get in contact with them and try and book a site.

While it wasn't "free" camping we stayed in the
Peaceful Bay Caravan Park in the "Bullring" last week. Perfect for two vans, water on tap and power.
The beach to the left was hard as, to the right was soft as.
Easy access to both Walpole and
Denmark.

I'm not that concerned about "free" and
peaceful bay looks allright. I was hoping to avoid the crowds as much as possible but as we wont be arriving till good friday this may be hard! Parry beach sounds more our style but does it fill up?
Not an ideal time of year but there you go!

If you do go to
Peaceful Bay the Bull Ring is way down the back,
well shielded from the rest of the park by bushes. It is about a 100 yard walk to the ablutions. Next G worked OK there as
well.
It was as if there wasn't a park there.

I now see you are going at
Easter.
Ring ahead and book if you are thinking of the Park.
I don't know if you can ask for exclusivity in the Bull Ring.
cheers

Mick, I didn't know you could
camp at William Bay as i haven't been there for many many years. When i was a youngster it was a favourite of
mine. At that stage somewhat remote down a sand track to this gorgeous fully enclosed by rocks bay and safe place to swim and picnic. I sure hope it hasn't been spoiled too much. Back in those days, i would have cheerfully camped there as you rarely saw anyone else, but my friend lived at
Denmark so i used to spend some of the summer holidays with her family.

I don't know much about it either motherhen, but it is in my Roads and Tracks book. Info in book however makes it look like a very small
camp and limited vehicle access.

As Disco Driver has confirmed - looks like William Bay is out for camping. It is also not listed in Camps3, nor does it crack a mention in Jan Holland's Priceless Campsites and Rest areas. If you do find somewhere nice, do a day trip to William Bay anyway, it is a delightful spot.

Hi Mick,
1. There is NO legal campingin the William Bay area at any time.
2. Parry's and
Peaceful Bay and all the Caravan Parks in and around
Denmark are usually fully booked out for
Easter.
3. East of
Denmark, Cosy Corner
campsite will also be packed in like sardines.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but you will not find peace and isolation at this time of year.
Having said that,
Easter is not part of the school holiday period this year so it may be worth a phone call or two to
check out the options.
Rivermouth C/Park
Riverbend C/Park
Ocean Beach C/Park
Peaceful Bay C/Park
Parry Beach C/Park
Boat Harbour C/Park (has changed owners and was not open at Xmas but may be now)
Hope this helps.

Yep, parry's is a nightmare at
easter, and because there is no power you have to put up with some very loud inconsiderate generators, and if you want a hot shower you need to be in before 4:00 pm

Don't underestimate the number of locals who go tp Parry Beach on long weekends and the like, they tend to arrive from Thursday and fill the place up. We were there a couple of years ago for a week either side of the Labour Day long week end. By Friday morning they were packed in like sardines, and people were still arriving at 10pm and expecting the caretaker to find them a spot. Not a pretty site I tell you. By the way, you can't book Parry Beach in advance, its first come first served I'm affraid. Good luck.
Mike.
