ExplorOz wheel covers

Hi all,

just received my Exploroz wheel covers size 009 which is to fit 285/75x16 tyres.

have just fitted them. They seem to be a very tight fit..the elastic band doesn't reach the back of the tyre....has anyone else used this size before and is this normal or am I just being paranoid...Maybe sitting them in the sun would help stretch them slightly

any comments?????

thanks Mick T

I hope they stretch a bit more because I have just ordered mine and it needs to cover my 33's which come in at about 305/75/R17

Got mine 2 weeks ago put it on a 1/2 worn 285 75 16 I am worried the elastic will break ,that tight. Get my new tyres next week not a chance it will fit so guess it will stay on my second spare.

Hi captain chaos,

mine are fitted to brand new 285/75 16 silent armours.....bit of work to get em on but they're on......

may be a hassle with something like coopers that have extra tread depth

Hi Michael,

obviously the elastic at the rear won't lip over the tyre.....but it is such a tight fit i suppose they'll never fall off

and most thieves will find it too much effort...hopefully...lol

cheers

Guys,

They will strech over time. I have an older one that goes on and off old and new tyres easily. Also do not worry about the elastic breaking we have never neard of a report of this happening.

I have never had any problems in fitting the cover over any brand of 285/75x16.

You say the elastic does not reach the back, this sounds like a bit of a problem - it should lap about 1-2 inches around the back. Can you take a pic for me and I will investigate.

Hum,

That does look tight - I will get a new one out tomorrow and try it on my car and see what happens. I have also spoken to the covers guy about making a new bigger size cover the suit tyres with a greater dimension however the 009 should be no problem on 285/75R16 thou yours does not look right. I will get back to you tomorrow.

Mick,

Sorry for the delay I just fiited a new size 009 on my car and yes you are right they are not exaclty the same size as the last order of 009 covers, they appear to be about 15-20 mm smaller. I will get Michael onto this on Monday and have him speak with the supplier to see what we can sort out. We are in the process of ordering more at the moment so I will see what we can do about making the 009 right and even adding a bigger one.

I will be happy to send you a replacement once we get the issue resolved from our end.
