O/T Sort of. Volunteer Caretaker

My wife and I operate our travels as volunteers for properties in the drought areas of Queensland and there are still many. The organisation we work through is www.FrontierServices.org/OutbackLinks
At this moment they are looking for a volunteer to fill the position of caretaker at a small privately operated mine site near Forsayth in north Queensland for about 3 weeks from middle of April.
Sounds easy with only 2 horses, three birds and 6 chooks to care for and to make sure that all the mining equipment is still on site when they return.
I don't know a great deal more but from experience it usually comes with free 'site', power and water with the use of facilities which they have at the location.
Three weeks in an area which has many special attractions. Cobold Gorge, Agate Creek, Einasleigh Pub to mention a few.

Wow - so many people who need help out on the land. Interesting reading the comments on the sort of help they need.
Geez it must be bloody hard on them - we city slickers really have no idea of what those on the land, especially outback, face.
We go out there in our air conditioned 4WDs (and often caravans) and then complain about fuel prices, the odd flat tyre, rough roads, etc etc whilst there are people out there who are really doing it tough. Bloody sad really.

12 years ago I met a couple of blokes in the pub at Einasleigh and helped out with some electrics. They showed me the lava tubes which blew me away. Many a good night was held at the pub, so good on you for the web site.
