Learmonth is 35 klms south of
Exmouth, in this sort of country that can make a hell of a difference in the amount of rain received, I sometimes question the accuracy of the BOM rain gauge, June 2002 on the public holiday we received 300mm in 16 hours, that didnt even rate a mention.
Plus where I work the the main antenna field at the top of the Cape is well and truly under water, 258mm would not create that sort of deluge and swamp the site.
