Have had a Aussie Swag camper trailer for six years now. Love it. I can sit and have a beer when the remainder of the convoy are still setting up.

Off to the Cape for the second time this year. Been to the Rock and lots of other sites with many Km behind us.

I have a cub offroad camper and goes well (stable), is comfortable, fairly light, easy to set up.

Only dust that has got in came through the vents for the fridge - need to cover those up on the dusty trips.

m.j. - purchased our first Aussie Swag back in 1988 - went to Cape York with it. In those days the fridge was located inside the camper. We removed it and placed it in the back of the ute. In that space we packed our clothes and when we forded the Wenlock our clothes were under water. No water leaked into the camper - we came home from the cape via the west side of the cape where possible - dust not a problem either. That camper trailer then went across the Plenty Highway in 1992 and up to the Mitchell Plateau - along the Gibb River road - no problems.

Great camper trailers if you ask me.

We've had two Cub's the first one we bought in 1979, replaced it with a Supamatic in 1988. Sold the first one to friends and it is still going strong.
Both campers have covered in excess of 250,000 k's all over Oz, lot's of Len Beadell roads, simpson a few times etc etc.
The best thing to tow off road and outback, any dust problems can be easily sorted by adjusting seals or fitting additional ones but we never had a problem. I've also totally submerged both of them in river crossings, neither leaked!!
The best bit is that you can literally camp anywhere as it doesn't matter what the ground is like as you are off it.

Hi mj,

We picked up our Aussie Swag from the factory in Jan 2001 and have been very happy. No dust - I find it hard to believe with the travelling we have done in that time but I repeat, no dust. However we are careful when packing up to be sure that all the canvas is properly tucked in. On only one occasion water entered after packing up in driving rain but it was minimal and we know the trick to prevent that in future.

We have the Classic i.e. base model with leaf springs and have taken it all over the place incl. Lawn Hill, Laura, Chillagoe, Kalumburu Road, Gibb River Road (with many of the side tracks including Mornington Camp and Bell Gorge) etc. We would not take it on the CSR or other notorious tracks.

We have a long draw bar mounted with fridge box and stone guard both of which have been very worthwhile.

more than happy with our Aussieswag been on plenty of dusty & corrugated tracks with very little dust entry.here's a few things we found helps in dust

keep back latch key slots taped up in dust
keep latches adjusted for firm seal on rubbers
wipe any dust from doors & rubbers before closing
silicone any convoluted tubing than comes thru body to exterior

The thing we found with James & staff at Aussie was that nothing has ever been a problem and can still ring him 4 years down the track with a question and they are willing to answer & help if needed.
No affiliation just a satisfied customer after weighing up all the major players in this market before purchase and have no regrets.

Hard floors are great - so fast to setup - we've had a Campomatic Ranger M3 for 4 years (same class as the AS and the Kimberley etc) - ind. suspension (no problems) / 120L water / 3 jerries / exc. slide out kitchen /awning etc - very happy with it overall - the interiors stay quite clean after 1000's of k's of gravel roads (Gibb, Tanami etc) - they need to be closed properly and seal cleaning each day with a damp cloth is wise. These days, there are quite a few other quality makers in the lineup though.

We've had our Aussie Swag since '03. Done plenty of outback travelling on dusty roads and not had any trouble with dust or water in camper. Great for uneven or rocky ground. We carry wooden chocks to put under back to stabilise if ground is uneven.
